Map Koh Samet

Le Vimarn is located on a beautiful beach called Ao Phrao.  A very nice beach on the west coast in the north of Koh Samet.

I woke up very early at I think 7:30am (call it early!!).  Done with my morning ritual and was out on the beach at around 8am taking my 300D with me.  Met Julie who was smoking on her balcony.  We strolled along the beach.  What a nice sunny & breezy day.  It was indeed Winter in Thailand.  Alan came out at around 8:30am and we went to have breakfast.

Kevin & Milly were there too except Alice who were still sleeping very soundly.

We finished breakfast and were just laying there on the beach, swam and sunbathing.  The last time we were spending time in a resort was OMG Bali.. it was 2004!!  Kevin and us made a 'pledge' to go to nice resort once a year apart from our adventurous trips.

We ordered pizzas for lunch, still remember the Parma ham... delicious!  We were just laying there doing nothing until late afternoon.  We took showers and went out for the most popular beach on the East, Sai Kaew Beach.

We took the only kind of vehicle on the island, kind of like a truck.  We sat on the back rumbling & rocking from side to side while the truck was climbing the mountainous roads.  We were at Sai Kaew at around 5pm.  It is a looooooong beach.  We walked from one end to the other to see where we should have our dinner.

We chose Ploy Talay Bar & Restaruant. Sitting on these Thai mats and looking forward to the 'shows' it promised.

We girls went ordering.  In the picture I was asking the Thai lady teach me Thai of each dish I ordered!  Well I of course had completely forgot all of them!  We ordered quite a load of food and of course the beloved blood cockles of Alan & Julie.

Live music started at 8pm but the lead singers were not to my taste.  Songs were good though.  The Fire Boys show started at around 8:45pm.. a little bit later than promised but a good show.  There were 6 (I think) boys and the youngest was only 10.  All were very lean & cute and they were introduced as the infamous 'toy boy' of Sai Kaew.

We stayed until probably 10pm and called a 'taxi' 'home'.  We were still in HK time zone thus it was around 11pm so kind of sleepy.  We said goodbyes and Fung promised to wake up early the next day!  We would see...
