Lhasa
Winter palace of the Dalai Lama since the17th century, symbolizes Tibetan Buddhism and its central role in the traditional administration of Tibet.

Namtso Lake ¯Ç¤ì¿ù (4720m) Lhasa

Namtso means 'Heavenly Lake.' It is the second largest saltwater lake in China only after Qinghai Lake.  Meanwhile, it is the highest altitude saltwater lake in the world.

Mt. Everest ¯]¿p®Ôº¿®p (8848m)

The highest peak in the world & in Tibetan it means Goddess the Third. At the foot of Mt. Everest is located the highest temple in the world, Rongbuk Monastery (~5000m).

Mt. Kailash ¯«¤s(6638m), Ngari

Known as Sacred Mountain.  Kailash means 'Treasure or Saint of Snow Mountain' in Tibetan. The name originates from the year-round snow on its peak and its historical religious connections.

Lake Manasarova ¸t´òº¿®Ç¹l¿ù(4588m), Ngari

Known as Holy Lake.  It means 'Invincible Jade Lake' in Tibetan. Walking around the lake also has ceremonial value for the Tibetan and always follows clockwise.

Yamdrok-tso ¦Ï¨ô¹l¿ù(4441m)

One of the three holiest lakes in Tibet.  Being a sacred lake, Tibetans will usually visit the lake before making important decisions. On one of the islets, stands a Nyinmapa monastery.
